The
Spanish harbours of Barcelona, Valencia or Cádiz,
among others, offer perfect conditions for a real
sailing regatta with up to 12 sailing boats, which
in general can take up to 8 to 10 guests each. Spending
some time on a sailing vessel is fun, especially when
the wind is strong enough (though not too strong!)
- enjoy the speed the boat can reach! Organising this
activity as a regatta in a competitive way is going
to be big fun!
The group will be split in teams, each having a boat
at its disposal. There is an English-speaking “captain”
on each boat who will welcome his team, and give an
extensive introduction into this exciting sport, including
safety instructions. Then we change from theory to
the tough practice... the first round on the fix course
through the harbour is a trial, but then it is going
to be serious!
Upon start shot, all teams do their best to get through
the course but only one can win! As in official regattas,
the course leads around two buoys, and after approximately
2 hours the first boat will pass through the finish
line. Then it is time for the Winner’s Ceremony:
a magnum bottle of champagne for the winners, diplomas
for all guests.
